FAQs

Why Turks & Caicos?

With its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, villas, hotels, and world-class dining, Turks and Caicos is a safe, prosperous, highly modern island with everything you could want in a vacation spot. There are easily accessible water-sports and recreational activities, along with excursions to neighbouring islands like North and Middle Caicos. There are even some deserted islands to explore!
As an added bonus, Turks and Caicos offers direct and easy flights from the United States, Canada, and Europe.

What’s the benefit of staying at a villa?

Villas offer a privacy and serenity that no hotel can match. Our accommodations comfortably sleep four to six, so travelling in a group offers value that can’t be beat. You can treat yourself to a meal out or cook at home with your group. Stock the fridge however you like, and have drinks on your own private patio. With a villa, you have the power to make your trip exactly what you want it to be.

What happens when we arrive at the airport?

We recommend that you take the first available cab at the airport. Some guests ask about arranging a car service but we recommend not doing this. The rate for a cab is very reasonable and it avoids any connection issues if your flight is delayed or the customs line is backed up. From experience we strongly suggest supporting local cabs for airport runs. It has proven to be fast and efficient.

You can also rent a car at the airport. We are only a short 15 minute ride from the airport.

What happens when we arrive at the villa?

When you arrive at your villa, you’ll already have your keys in hand. Our representative will provide a quick tour of the villa and property. They’ll give you a phone number where you can reach them during your stay. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call. We’re available any day, any time.

How far is the beach from my villa?

Grace Bay beach is about a 5-7 minute walk or 2 min car ride. We provide beach loungers and umbrellas to all Grace Shore Villa guests. We have a team down at the beach who will get you all set up! This is a very big feature for us. Our guests love the fact that they are guaranteed a lounger any time of day. No need to go to the beach to save a chair!

Where can we buy groceries?

The closest grocery store is Grace Bay’s IGA, just a five minute walk from the villas. They have all the recognizable brands and everything you need to serve up a feast or throw a party. There’s a bakery, a meat counter, a deli, lots of produce, and a liquor section. Just a quick warning: you can’t buy retail alcohol on Sundays in Turks and Caicos, so be sure to think ahead.

Can we bring pets?

Unfortunately, concerns about allergies among our guests on the estate make it impossible for us to allow animals. If you find yourself really missing animal-interaction, there’s a wonderful association called Potcake Place located at the nearby Salt Cay Plaza. They love to welcome visitors who want to spend time with their animals! We’re huge animal-lovers ourselves, so we’re excited to see this organization flourish.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is alright in the outdoor areas on the estate. Don’t forget, Turks and Caicos is just a short hop from Cuba so if you’re a cigar-fan, some of the best in the world can be found at the Island’s tobacconists.

When can we use the pool?

The pool is always available, but we ask that you do not use it after 11pm for the sake of guests at the estate’s other villas. Lounge chairs are also available.  We also don’t allow glass near the pool, and ask that you refrain from diving for your own safety. A full list of rules can be found by the poolside.

What is the minimum stay?

During most of the year, there is a minimum stay of three nights. During the holiday season (December 20th to January 5th), our minimum stay is seven nights. Check our main page for seasonal rates.

Do you offer long-term rentals?

It’s all dependent on availability during the course of your intended stay. We do offer discounts for long-term rentals, so don’t hesitate to contact us for further information and to check availability!

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards and wire transfers.

Are there costs associated with air conditioning?

We provide metered air conditioning at each villa. On arrival, our representative will take a reading and compare it with the reading when you leave. The cost per kilowatt fluctuates, so we charge the going rate at the time of your stay. There is no up-charge.

Working on this model helps keep costs down, and we pass the savings on to you!

How does the cleaning-service work?

To keep your stay on your own schedule, we don’t dispatch a daily cleaning service to your villa. We supply ample towels and bedding to each unit, so you don’t have to worry about running short. If you’re staying for a longer period and want to have the villa cleaned, we can accommodate your request for a fee.

We ask that during your stay, you place your own garbage in the designated area.

What’s the weather like in Turks?

Turks and Caicos is perfect to escape the coldest months of winter.

The sweet spot runs from December to April, when you can expect temperatures approaching 30° Celsius every day (that’s over 80° Fahrenheit for our American friends), and very little rain. It’s absolutely perfect for a week in the sun just when you need it.

Temperatures are even warmer the rest of the year, but there’s a little more rain. Even so, Turks has an exceptionally low amount of precipitation year-round, so you can expect only a couple of inches of rain even in the wettest season.

In other words, whenever you come, you’ll be greeted by sunshine and warmth, perfect for the beach!
